New Lizard Species Discovered

A dinosaur fossil found in the nineteenth century is still providing new data. The Compsognathus longipes ate a lizard 150 million years ago but died before digesting it. The lizard has been reclassified as a new species. Researchers named it Schoenesmahl dyspepsia, which translates to “beautiful meal that is difficult to digest.”

Weird Dinosaur is not a Fake

The verdict is in. Halszkaraptor escuilliei is a very weird dinosaur, but it is real. The Halszkaraptor was a velociraptor-like theropod, but it had a long neck, duck-billed snout, flipper-like clawed limbs, and was a strong swimmer. The fossilized skeleton found in Mongolia was so unusual that paleontologists first thought it was fake.
