$1000 Worth of Quarters, Please

14 year-old Jayera Griffin saved all year for her spring break, but she didn’t travel far. She used her $1000 to pay for a free laundry day at her local laundromat in Riverdale Illinois! Some children she tutors don’t have washing machines, and sometimes can’t afford to do laundry. Jayera is already planning her next free laundry day.

A Scottish Boy’s Got Grit

After a snowstorm in Kiltarlity Scotland, 8 year-old Kyle Mackay got to work. Worried that people in his neighborhood would slip on the ice, he filled a wheelbarrow with grit and spent his snow days salting the sidewalks. Local companies gave him his own 1000 dollar gritter, work jacket and gloves to help him help others!
