Hippopoopamuses

Hippos are extremely dangerous to humans, killing an average of 2900 people per year in Africa. But it’s even worse for fish! When it rains, tons of hippo poop from hippopotamus pools washes down rivers, killing loads of fish! Death by hippo poop sounds so undignified. At least other animals get to eat easy fish dinners!

Hippos and Gumdrops

Today is Hippo Day. Hippopotamuses are quite dangerous animals, killing around 3000 people each year! These water loving pachyderms can’t swim. They mark territory by flinging poop with their tails. They produce pink milk, which reminds me: it’s also National Gumdrop Day! Percy Truesdell was the Gumdrop King, perfecting the candy in 1915.
