Catclaws to the Rescue

Apparently common sense is not enough to keep cars from driving or parking on sidewalks, so British inventor Yannick Read created the Catclaw. The device pops a metal spike out, to slash the tires of a car or truck that rolls over it. Lighter objects like people or bikes will not activate it. That should keep pedestrians safe!

Inspiring Science and Stuff

Congratulations to Bethan Padbury, a British teen who won the Guinness World Records: Science and Stuff Inspire Award at the Big Bang Fair in England. She produced electricity to light up a sign using a bicycle and a homemade generator. You could also smell a recreation of the smelly corpse flower at the fair!
