Freeze, and Put Your Snouts Up!

Last week, cold weather in North Carolina froze the water at Swamp Park, a home for alligators rescued from captivity. But the alligators have a remarkable survival mechanism; they submerge their bodies, leaving their snouts above water. Once frozen into place, the alligators enter brumation. It’s like hibernation, but for cold-blooded animals!
