Mountains and Valleys Deep Under Antarctica

Researchers using ice-penetrating radar have discovered mountain ranges and valleys far beneath the ice in Antarctica. The deep valleys are hundreds of miles long, and can influence the flow of glaciers to the sea. Scientists are learning how the hidden mountains cause the East and West Antarctic ice sheets to interact with each other.
