Planetesimal Spotted Near Pluto

For the first time, astronomers believe they’ve found an object in our solar system, that’s an early step in the formation of a new planet. By focusing on a star until some of its light is blocked by a passing object, called occultation, they spotted a planetesimal less than a mile wide, near Pluto!
