Solar Probe is Hot Stuff

In a few weeks, NASA will launch the Parker Solar Probe. The probe’s orbit will take it inside the Sun’s corona. How can anything withstand temperatures in the millions without melting? It’s because the corona has a low density, so all those sizzling particles don’t interact with the spacecraft at once! Fascinating!
