New Kid on the Rock

There’s a new kid at the Oregon Zoo. Sassy the mountain goat had a baby! The little guy was on its feet 10 minutes after being born! A day later, it was frolicking on the rocks, looking adorable! Mountain goats live in western mountain ranges in North America, climbing the tiniest rock ledges with ease!

That’s One BIG Fancy Drink!

Over the weekend in California, Snoop Dogg broke a world record. The rapper mixed up the largest gin and juice in the world! The giant paradise cocktail had 180 bottles of gin, 154 bottles of apricot brandy, 38 bottles of orange juice, a pineapple and melon garnish on a sword, a pink parasol, blocks of ice, and a massive straw!

Tiny Lizard Unlocks Evolution Clues

Scientists have recently discovered a 240 million year-old lizard! The Megachirella wachtleri is only 3 inches long, but it is the ancestor of all living lizards and snakes! The Triassic period fossil was found in the Dolomite mountains in Italy 15 years ago, but new technology has revealed the lizard’s monumental importance in understanding their evolution.

No Luck at All!

When Mount Vesuvius erupted in Pompeii in the year 79, it preserved the city in ash. Archaeologists continue to study the city’s ruins and its inhabitants nearly 2000 years later. They recently uncovered an unusual skeleton. He escaped the early eruptions, but was killed by a 661 pound rock landing on him. Talk about bad luck!
