Today is World Nutella Day. Nutella is a spread made from cocoa and hazelnuts, that tastes yummy on bread. It’s also Chocolate Fondue Day, which is melted chocolate that you can dip everything in. I think I’ll eat strawberries, spread with Nutella and dunked in chocolate! Now what will I have for dessert.

A blast of Arctic air, is sweeping through the Northeast United States. Mount Washington, in New Hampshire, recorded the lowest US wind chill temperature ever, of -104° Fahrenheit. The winds were reaching speeds of 100 miles-per-hour! Old Man Winter is happy to demonstrate the groundhog’s prediction, of 6 more weeks of winter.

Today is Take Your Child To The Library Day. Spend some time exploring your library. Look for a new book by your favorite author, check out a book on crafts or science experiments, or reed a biography about someone you’ve never heard of. You can even get your very own library card. Have fun!

Today is Create A Vacuum Day, but it doesn’t mean suck up all the snacks. A vacuum, is a space where there is no matter, or where the pressure inside a space is lower than the pressure outside of it. A suction cup creates a vacuum. Look online, for easy vacuum experiments to try.

I think it’s a day for feeling warm and cozy. It’s Sweater Day! Turn down the heat and dress in your favorite sweater. Be careful not to spill soup on it, because it’s also Homemade Soup Day. Try making vegetable soup with all the leftover vegetables in the fridge, and save some for me!

You know what’s better than ice cream for dessert? Ice cream for breakfast! Blue Bell is celebrating Ice Cream For Breakfast Day with a new flavor, called I Heart Cereal. Lots of ice cream shops are opening early, and welcoming customers to come in their pajamas. Coffee ice cream sounds good to me!

A good boy in Portugal, holds the world record for the oldest dog ever. Bobi, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo with an average life expectancy of 12 to 14 years, is 30 years and 268 days old! He has spent his life off-leash, roaming the farmlands and forests, and eating human food.

Astronomers have discovered an exoplanet, that might support life. It’s about the same size as Earth, and is orbiting its star at a distance that would allow liquid water. It’s not too hot, and not too cold, which is known as the Goldilocks zone. The planet, named Wolf 1069b, is 31 light-years away.

Winter can be hard on birds, especially when snow covers everything. Give them a little help, on Feed The Birds Day. Set up a bird feeder, and fill it with bird seed. Woodpeckers enjoy blocks of suet, cardinals love sunflower seeds, and many birds enjoy fruit. Your old wrinkly apples will make them happy.

Today is Carrot Cake Day. The natural sweetness of carrots, makes it one of the few vegetables, that sounds good in a dessert! You can even make a version for dogs, to celebrate Golden Retriever Day. The gentle dog is one of the most popular breeds for families in the United States. Good doggie!
