A good boy in Portugal, holds the world record for the oldest dog ever. Bobi, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo with an average life expectancy of 12 to 14 years, is 30 years and 268 days old! He has spent his life off-leash, roaming the farmlands and forests, and eating human food.

Astronomers have discovered an exoplanet, that might support life. It’s about the same size as Earth, and is orbiting its star at a distance that would allow liquid water. It’s not too hot, and not too cold, which is known as the Goldilocks zone. The planet, named Wolf 1069b, is 31 light-years away.

Winter can be hard on birds, especially when snow covers everything. Give them a little help, on Feed The Birds Day. Set up a bird feeder, and fill it with bird seed. Woodpeckers enjoy blocks of suet, cardinals love sunflower seeds, and many birds enjoy fruit. Your old wrinkly apples will make them happy.

They started by chewing blobs of wax, tree sap, or bark tar. The first bubble gum, Dubble Bubble, wasn’t invented until 1928.

Let’s celebrate World Wetlands Day! This year’s theme is, It’s Time for Wetlands Restoration. Wetlands are swamps and marshes that act like a sponge, absorbing water to reduce flooding during wet seasons, and releasing it during dry spells. Wetlands are also home, to 40% of the world’s plant and animal species.

They look like spiky balls, with quills that feel like toothpicks. Don’t forget Sled Dog Day! Take your dog sledding, and yell “Mush!”

It’s Groundhog Day! The official weather-predicting groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, emerged from his burrow and saw his shadow. That means there will be 6 more weeks of winter. But Martinsburg Maxwell, a groundhog with a degree in meteorology, said, “Phil’s only right 20% of the time. It’s impossible to accurately predict weather that way!”
