Making a B-Line for Bees

The British House of Commons is hoping to protect bees, moths and butterflies in Britain by passing the Protection of Pollinators Bill. It would allow conservationists to help plant wildflowers and shrubberies in B-Lines throughout the country. The corridors will let pollinators travel easily in urban areas, and make animals and people happy too!

Save the Pollinators!

Derek Woo, a high school senior in Connecticut, invented a way to help save honeybees. Entire colonies can die off when bees ingest insecticides, often by drinking contaminated water that collects on the ends of leaves. Derek found that mixing charcoal into the plants’ soil, makes the water safe! Farmers using biochar will save bees!
