The U S Post Office has been struggling to keep delivering mail on time, with the new rules and regulations put in place. Now, they have to keep the mail safe from goats. A woman in Toxey Alabama, spotted a goat, who had raided someone’s mailbox, and was eating their mail. How rude.

A couple in Ecuador, marked a major milestone with an official new world record. 110 year-old Julio Cesar Mora Tapio, and 104-year-old Maclovia Quinteros, have been married for over 79 1/2 years! They got married in 1941, and had 5 kids. Now, they have 9 great-great grandchildren. Their secret formula for a long marriage, is love + maturity+ mutual respect.

Scientists can learn a lot about the Earth’s past, by studying plant fossils. Researchers found a huge tree fossil buried in the plains of Peru, that reveals new details about the climate 10,000,000 years ago. It was more humid than they thought, and the altitude changed quickly, suggesting rapid uplift of the tectonic plates.

The purple woman’s silver spirit turned the chimney orange. Most of the words in that sentence don’t rhyme with anything, perfect for No Rhyme (Nor Reason) Day! It’s also Tofu Day. Made from soybeans, it’s a great alternative to meat in any dish. Fried tofu in ginger-soy sauce is my favorite.

Today is World Letter Writing Day. E-mail is easier, but there’s nothing like getting an actual letter in the mailbox, complete with a cool stamp. Write a letter about your summer, your first week at school, or your awesome orange cat. It’s also Ginger Cat Appreciation Day! Give your kitty some extra love!

A man in Minnesota set a new world record, with his sky-high hairdo. He styled his hair into a Mohawk, that stood 42.5 inches high! Joe Grisamore used up half a can of Got2B Glued Blasting Hair Spray, to make his hair stick straight up. He had to duck to get out the door.

There’s at least one place on Earth, where COVID-19 is not ruining a good time. The island of Guernsey, in Britain, has had no corona virus cases since April. That means the 44th Vale Earth Fair, their annual music festival, can take place without restrictions. The 3000 island residents can enjoy 70 local acts, over 12 hours.

There’s a new road in California, that looks like any other road. However, it’s the first state road in the United States, made entirely from recycled plastic! The Technisoil company used more than 150,000 single-use plastic bottles, to pave the 1-mile stretch of highway. It will last longer than asphalt, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

Researchers have discovered evidence, that 250,000,000 years ago, the Lystrosaurus hibernated. The pig-sized animal had tusks, providing information to scientists, like the growth rings in a tree trunk. They can see periods of less growth and stress, in the rings. Other dinosaurs may have also hibernated, but without continuously growing tusks, we may never know.
