Today is Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day. If you could visit any period in time, would you go to the past, or the future? Pretend you went to prehistoric times, and eat like a caveman! But before you go time traveling, celebrate Brownie Day, just in case brownies weren’t invented yet.

Flying Is Fabulous

Today is Letter Writing Day. Write a letter to someone on nice paper, and pick out a cool stamp at the post office. Use your neatest handwriting, and tell them about things you do every day. It’s also Civil Aviation Day, celebrating the awesomeness of airplanes. Now you can send your letter by airmail.

Make Time for Slime

Did you know it’s Slime Day? You can make your own gooey slime by mixing 2 4-ounce bottles of school glue, with 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Add 2 tablespoons of contact lens solution to activate your mixture, then knead it until it’s the perfect texture. You can even add glitter or food coloring.

An Adorable Avalanche

An organization in Oregon called Pile of Puppies, is trying to make fun memories for some very sick kids. The group brings a large litter of puppies, and piles them on top of chronically ill children. For a little while, kids can just focus on the joy of being covered in cute, wiggly, puppies!

Folded Paper Is Amazingly Strong

14-year-old Miles Wu, has been folding origami creatures out of paper, for many years. His hobby paid off, after winning the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge. He was awarded $25,000, for creating an origami structure that can hold 10,000 times its own weight. That’s like a car, supporting 4,000 elephants.

Warm Hands for Everyone

One way to keep warm, is with mittens. Celebrate Mitten Tree Day, by decorating a tree with mittens, and a sign telling people to help themselves. The first Saturday of the month is also Play Outside Day. Whether you have fun in the sun, or a playful gray day, don’t forget your mittens!

Too Big for His Mouth

If you don’t like doggie kisses, you’d better stay away from Ozzy. The French and bull mastiff mix has the longest tongue of any living dog. From the tip of his snout to the tip of his tongue, it measures 7.83 inches long. Ozzy’s tongue has stuck out of his mouth his whole life.
