Nature Takes Its Land Back

A coal mine in England that closed down 50 years ago, has been reclaimed by nature. The Chatterley Whitfield mine’s towers and buildings are still standing, but wild strawberries grow on the heaps of coal slag, owls roost in the towers, and foxes and badgers have dens in the mineshafts.

They leave their snouts above the ice to breathe. Alligator eggs develop into males or females, depending on the temperature of the nest. That’s amazing!

Biscuit Bonanza

Today is Biscuit Day. You could eat a biscuit in Ireland that’s known as a cookie elsewhere, or eat fluffy biscuits with gravy in the United States. I’m going to eat both! Then, make a paper clip necklace to celebrate Paper Clip Day. A piece of bent wire can sure be useful!
