An archaeological site in Vasagard Denmark has turned up more than 300 carved stones from the Stone Age, around 5000 years ago. The sunstones are small round discs with lines carved from the center like the sun’s rays. They may have been used as temple coins, maps, counting stones or in funeral ceremonies. They are still a mystery!

In the Colorado River Delta in Mexico, the Gulf corvina fish gather for a noisy reunion. The fish is a type of croaker that has a swim bladder in its abdomen that can make a drumming sound. Scientists recorded them and they are the loudest known fish. They sound like machine guns!

Recently JAXA, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, discovered a 31 mile-long cavern on the moon. It’s probably an ancient lava tube beneath the Marius Hills. The cave might be an ideal place to build a lunar base for colonization because it is protected from radiation and has a stable temperature.

It’s official: Ray Woolley is the world’s oldest scuba diver! Ray beat 93 year-old Erwin Paul Staller’s record by spending his 94th birthday diving to the wreck of the Zenobia ferry in Larnaca, Cyprus. Woolley grew up in England but now lives in Cyprus where the mild climate allows him to swim every day.

Japanese scientists have discovered a new species of worm that lives on the seafloor of the Pacific Ocean. The Xenoturbella japonica is an orange sack-like creature with no internal organs. The two inch-long worm also has no butt! It eats and expels waste from the same opening. He’s a real potty-mouth!

Moon Express is a private spaceflight company with big plans. They plan to land on the moon in 2018! The Rocket Lab company developed a booster to propel their lunar lander. The biggest celebrity at the zoo in Tokyo Japan is a baby panda. Xiang Xiang made his first public appearance to thousands of lucky people. The zoo held a lottery to limit visitors and 250,000 people applied! The panda cub rolled around, ate bamboo, and looked adorable!
