Would you like to see the sky smiling down at you? Just before sunrise on Friday, the crescent moon will line up with Venus and Saturn, to form a smiling moon-mouth, and shining planet-eyes. Of course, you’ll have to tilt your head and use a little imagination. Look for shooting stars while you’re up!

Today is Bring A Kid To Work Day, at workplaces that allow it. If your parents are working from home, sit in on a conference call or Zoom meeting! This year’s theme, “For a New Generation,” inspires kids to connect with role models in different fields. Do any adults you know have interesting jobs?

Today is Pig In A Blanket Day! Pretend you’re a little piglet and snuggle up in a blanket, while you eat bite-sized sausages wrapped in dough. It’s also Bucket List Day. Make a list of all the things you want to try in your life, and check them off in the years to come.

Do you have a piggy bank? Banks are a great way to save money. You’re more likely to spend all your money, if you carry it in your pocket! Today is Teach Your Children To Save Day, so scrounge up some change, and make a deposit! Ask your parents, if they’ll pay you interest.

Did you know it’s Scream Day? Have a screaming contest with your family, to see who’s the loudest. Find a place that echoes, to hear yourself scream back. Look at photos from the Screamotron3000, created by photographer Billy Hunt. In New Jersey, texting the Scream Truck, will bring an ice cream truck to you!

You’ll never guess what today is. Seriously, you’ll never guess. It’s International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day! Too wacky? Do an experiment, for World Laboratory Day. Too much work? Go see a movie, for Movie Theater Day. Don’t worry if the movie got bad reviews, because it’s also Take A Chance Day!

You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can’t pick your friend’s nose. Except maybe it’s ok just for today, since it’s International Nose Picking Day, haha! Yuck! Always remember, the mucous in your nose traps bacteria, before it gets in your lungs, so don’t eat your bacteria-filled boogers.

Today is English Language Day. Celebrate by making sure you know the difference between Y-O-U-R and Y-O-U-apostrophe-R-E! You can also use old English words, like thee and thou. Dost thou know that it’s Talk Like Shakespeare Day as well? Wherefore art thou Romeo? He’s probably reading by candlelight, because it’s also World Book Night!

Going out to eat, doesn’t have to be expensive. Just have a picnic outside! Pack a lunch and eat in the park, your yard, your porch, or even your living room floor, for Picnic Day. It’s also Asparagus Day, English Muffin Day, and Cherry Cheesecake Day, so be sure your picnic includes those foods!

Today is World Table Tennis Day. It’s a lot easier to fit a ping-pong table in your house, than a tennis court. Table tennis began as a parlor game in Victorian England, and became an Olympic Sport in 19 88. If you don’t have a ping-pong table in your house, use your dining room table instead!
