Today is Opposite Day, so say the opposite of what you mean. Ice cream is horrible! I love getting tons of homework! I want to clean the toilets! Don’t forget to say, “Just kidding, it’s Opposite Day,” or you might confuse a lot of people! Just don’t give opposite answers on tests!

Jordan Maddocks, broke a world record while running in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, in Arizona. He completed the 26.2 mile run, in 2 hours and 44 minutes, while dressed as a carrot. Jordan also holds the record for fastest marathon dressed as a fruit, when he ran in a banana costume.

Tesla electric vehicles, have some hidden surprises. The last update, includes a light show! The Tesla plays “Carol of the Bells,” while flashing lights and opening the trunk, in a dazzling display. You can also watch a fireplace, while the heater blows warm air, or play the sound of galloping coconuts as you drive.

There’s a new coating, that stops fire in its tracks. Researchers were inspired by lava, which flows and then hardens. The coating would melt in extreme heat, then harden into a ceramic layer that won’t burn. It could be used on everything from buildings to wooden tables, to stop fires from spreading.

Today is Talk Like A Grizzled Prospector Day. Pretend you’ve found a hunk of gold, in the 18 48 California Gold Rush! Your impression might make people laugh, for Belly Laugh Day! Everyone needs a good loud laugh once in a while, especially when everyone is cracking up together.

Runaway dogs can soon get confused, and put themselves in danger when people try to catch them. A dog in England, was roaming around dangerous mud flats, so Denmead Drone Search and Rescue swooped in to help. They lured Millie out, with a drone carrying a sausage. Millie was soon reunited with her family.

Starlink satellite dishes, provide internet service for people. They also provide warmth, for cats! A man was confused about his slow internet service, especially since the dishes are heated, to prevent snow from interfering with the connection. When he investigated, he found 5 cats, keeping warm and cozy in his satellite dish.

In 18 97, archaeologists found long metal tubes, in an ancient Maikop burial mound. It’s taken this long, to figure out what they are. The slender, 3-foot-long gold and silver tubes, are the world’s oldest drinking straws! Evidence suggest that 5,500 years ago, people drank beer through the filtered straws, from a communal pot.

March 14th is Pi Day, spelled P-I, which is a mathematical term. Today however, is Pie Day, spelled P-I-E, which is a delicious food term. Eat everything in a flaky crust today! Have quiche, pumpkin pie, pot pie, lemon meringue pie, shepherd’s pie, apple pie, cherry-blueberry-chocolate cream-strawberry rhubarb pie-pie-pie!
