Archaeologists in Egypt, found something buried in the sand. It was a 3000-year-old city! They have been uncovering the mud walls of the Golden City, known as The Rise of Aten. It was built during Amenhotep the 3rd’s reign. He was King Tut’s grandfather. Houses in the city are filled with artifacts. Incredible!

Monkeys Out on the Town

20 to 25 monkeys escaped from a zoo in Germany yesterday, and police are advising people, to be on the lookout. The Barbary macaques are about 2 feet tall, and may have gotten out due to construction work. The monkeys are not dangerous, but they might steal your bananas if you’re not paying attention.

Space Dust Raining Down on Earth

Comets and asteroids are whizzing through space all the time, leaving tiny fragments behind. Scientists are collecting space dust in Antarctica, to see just how much makes it to Earth. After 20 years of measurements, they estimate 5200 tons of micrometeorites reach the Earth’s surface each year. I think I just inhaled a piece of comet.

That’s a Weird Place for a Speed Bump

In some places, you might see a cat or a squirrel hanging out under a parked car. In Florida, residents at an apartment complex, found a 10-foot-long alligator, resting under a vehicle. The Wildlife Conservation Commission took the reptile to an alligator farm, where it could have gator friends, and wouldn’t freak everyone out.

Tesco is the United Kingdom’s biggest supermarket chain. Last year, it made a big commitment, to reducing plastic in its stores. It removed 1,000,000,000 bits of plastic, from shrink-wrapped boxes, to yogurt lids, and greeting card covers. Tesco vowed to remove plastic where it can, reduce where it can’t, reuse more, and recycle what’s left.
