Chocolatey Goodness

Today is World Nutella Day. Nutella is a spread made from cocoa and hazelnuts, that tastes yummy on bread. It’s also Chocolate Fondue Day, which is melted chocolate that you can dip everything in. I think I’ll eat strawberries, spread with Nutella and dunked in chocolate! Now what will I have for dessert.

After the Race Comes Dessert

The ilani Casino in Washington, recently featured a race, between 2 edible cars. The vehicles were replicas of Formula One race cars, made of 91% cake. Michael Andretti drove the winning car, speeding 17 miles-per-hour, for nearly 350 feet. The edible vehicles set world records for speed and distance traveled. I wonder if the cakes used motor oil.

Hundreds of Giant Baby Spiders

It’s summer in Australia right now, and the weather last week was just right for hatching baby spiders. A video shows a teenager’s room, with hundreds of young huntsman spiders crawling around the ceiling’s corners. They’ll have a 5-inch legspan when they grow up, but they’re only about an inch or 2 wide right now.

How to Scoop Less Poop

Scientists study some weird stuff. A recent study, showed that dogs who ate the same fresh meat and vegetables as humans, pooped less than when they ate dry dog food. Kibble created 2/3 more poop! Fresh food isn’t necessarily healthier, but dogs may need to eat less to get the same nutrients.

Get Out of My Space

Today is Create A Vacuum Day, but it doesn’t mean suck up all the snacks. A vacuum, is a space where there is no matter, or where the pressure inside a space is lower than the pressure outside of it. A suction cup creates a vacuum. Look online, for easy vacuum experiments to try.

Warm Up for Winter

I think it’s a day for feeling warm and cozy. It’s Sweater Day! Turn down the heat and dress in your favorite sweater. Be careful not to spill soup on it, because it’s also Homemade Soup Day. Try making vegetable soup with all the leftover vegetables in the fridge, and save some for me!

Juggler Onboard

In the last 5 years, David Rush has broken over 150 Guinness world records. He was at it again, this time on a balance board. The Idaho man juggled 3 balls, while standing on a board, balanced on a cylinder. He continued juggling on the moving board, for nearly 2 hours and 40 minutes, demolishing the old record.

Wedding Gown Goof

When Wendie Taylor had her wedding gown professionally cleaned and preserved after getting married, she packed it away without looking at it. 14 years later, she opened the box to show her daughter, and was shocked to discover she had the wrong dress! She’s posted photos on social media, hoping someone recognizes their gown.

So That’s Who Ate All the Tomatoes!

Yesterday was Groundhog Day, which is Punxsutawney Phil’s big day. But he isn’t the only famous groundhog around. Chunk is a groundhog with its own YouTube channel. A camera captures Chunk and a few friends, munching on fruits and vegetables at a miniature picnic table. Watch the garden drama, at Chunk the Groundhog.
