Today is Christmas, a festival celebrated by billions of people to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. We don’t know the date Jesus was actually born, but Christmas has been December 25th since the year 336. It is marked with gift giving and Santa Claus, Christmas trees and lights, church services, songs and gatherings.

NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, is in charge of aerospace and maritime warning and control. But on Christmas Eve, NORAD tracks Santa Claus! The Hershey chocolate factory in Hershey Pennsylvania, produces more than 70 million Hershey Kisses a day. Recently, some people have complained that many points on the iconic shape, first created in 19-oh-7, were broken. While Hershey encourages everyone to celebrate each other’s differences, they may send coupons to customers who are unhappy.

Don’t Fall in THIS River

A centuries-old legend in Peru, talks about a boiling hot river in the Amazon. When geoscientist Andreas Ruzo learned it actually exists, he wanted to study how it was possible. The 82 foot-wide river is 187 degrees Fahrenheit for nearly 4 miles, and it’s nowhere near a volcano! Now Andreas works to protect the unique river.

For the last 3 years, Tyler has been making Hero Bags, filled with clothes, toothbrushes, and other necessities, for veterans in Maryland.
