Wool comes from sheep and some other mammals, like alpacas. Wool clothes have the amazing ability, to keep you warm, even when they’re wet. The surface can repel water, so sheep don’t worry about the rain. Since today is Hug A Sheep Day, find a farm that has kid-friendly sheep, and start hugging!

Symptoms of stroke include sudden trouble walking, speaking, and understanding, as well as paralysis or numbness of the face, arm, or leg. It’s important to learn the signs, to get help fast. 136 years ago, the Statue of Liberty was dedicated in New York. The statue stands in the harbor, and has welcomed millions of people from other countries, entering the USA on ships. National Immigrants Day celebrates all those who came to the United States from other countries, to find opportunity and happiness.

Lemur Celebration

Today is World Lemur Day. You might recognize several types of these small primates, in the movie “Madagascar,” but there are actually around 100 different species of lemur. They are all native to the island of Madagascar. Did you know lemurs have 2 tongues? The second smaller tongue, is used during grooming.

Animated Chocolate

Chocolate lovers, today is your lucky day. It’s Chocolate Day! People have been eating chocolate, made from the seeds of cacao trees, for 4000 years or more. Be sure to watch some cartoons while you enjoy your chocolate, because it’s also Animation Day. Create your own stop-motion video or flip-book animation!
