A Bit Overdue

A book was returned to a British cathedral, that had been checked out of its library a while ago. The book, called The Faith and Practice of a Church of England Man, was more than 300 years overdue! A Reverend at Sheffield Cathedral joked, that the late fines could buy the church a new roof!

Secret in the Garden

John Bostock has lived in his house in England for 25 years. He decided to clear out an overgrown section of his garden, and discovered a 12-foot-tall stone gate. The ornamental gate was built in the mid-17-hundreds, and was decorated with oyster shells, bones, and animal teeth. It had been covered with ivy for centuries!

Do Leopards Like School Food?

A school cafeteria in India, had an unexpected visit, from a leopard. The big cat wandered in, after getting into a violent fight with another leopard. The cafeteria was sealed off until animal rescuers arrived, and took the leopard to a Wildlife Center to recover, before being released back into the wild.

Harvesting Sun and Providing Shade

Solar panels generate electricity from the sun, but they have another benefit. The panels partially shade the ground below, giving wildflowers the perfect place to grow. Pollinators like bees and butterflies, seem to prefer these patches as well. Flowers bloom later in the shade, giving bees food over a longer period of time.
