Before that, people used to decorate their Christmas trees with candles, which doesn’t sound safe at all! Now we have LED lights that stay cool, and color-changing lights that you can program.
Today is Faux Fur Friday. Leave the real fur on the animals, and wear a fake fur coat instead. How about one with pink tiger stripes? Another way to keep warm, is with a dashing sweater vest, to celebrate Sweater Vestival. Maybe you can even find one that lights up! Today, sleeves are overrated.
Today is Stay Home Because You’re Well Day. It’s more fun to have a day off, when you’re not sick! Spend some time relaxing on your own, since it’s Personal Space Day. It’s a good idea to keep some distance from others anyway, to avoid getting sick this winter.
Enjoy celebrating Mousse Day, by eating chocolate mousse. I mean the delicious dessert, not the animal! It’s also Mason Jar Day, the jar that’s perfect for preserves, drinks, or crafts. Then learn to spell m-i-s-s-i-s-s-i-p-p-i, for Mississippi Day. The state’s western border, is the winding Mississippi River, flowing into the Gulf of Mexico.
Did you know today, is Computer Security Day? Update your operating systems, and install security updates to catch spyware and malware. Most importantly, use strong passwords. Try using random words, and definitely don’t use 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 or PASSWORD for your password. And remember, never give out your personal information to anyone online, including nosy online quizzes.
Today is Jaguar Day. Wildlife conservation efforts in Mexico have had a huge impact on the jaguar population. The number of Mexican jaguars is increasing. The majority of the big cats live in the Amazon rainforest, where there is also some good news. Brazil is creating more parklands and planting millions of trees!
Today is Package Protection Day. As more people order products online, there are reports of deliveries disappearing. Security cameras have caught many porch thieves in action. Sometimes, the thief is an animal, like a bear. Human criminals should beware, because sometimes the package is a decoy, full of glitter and poop!
Clear out a big space and get 7 more people, because today is Square Dancing Day! 4 couples form a square, then perform the moves that a caller calls out. Bough to your partner, doe-see-doe, then eat a box of candy for Chocolates Day! It’s not a square dance move, but it will be yummy!
Today is Throw Out Your Leftovers Day. I think what it really means, is throw the leftover food in your mouth, and eat it, before it gets moldy in the fridge. You can always combine leftovers, into a big pot of soup. Save room for dessert, because it’s also Lemon Cream Pie Day.
Today is Red Planet Day, named for the planet Mars. It looks like a reddish-orange star in the night sky. Mars is red because the surface is full of iron oxide. It’s rusty! We’ve sent multiple rovers to its surface, to explore and take pictures. Someday, humans might live on Mars!
