Pop Into the Bathtub

Over 2200 years ago, the Greek mathematician, Archimedes, discovered that an object’s volume could be measured by submerging it in water. He had this revelation while taking a bath, so we celebrate International Bath Day. Today is also National Pop Goes The Weasel Day. Learn the words, and find a jack-in-the-box to play along with you.

Juggle With Children

Can you juggle? It’s World Juggling Day, so give it a try! A painting of people juggling, was found on a 4000 year-old Egyptian tomb! Watch Zaniac Alex Zerbe, for juggling with a goofy twist. It’s also Children’s Day, which doesn’t mean kids get gifts. Adults should slow down, and play with their kids.

Balancing Fruit Ninja

David Rush has broken over 150 world records, to promote STEM education. His latest feat was to slice kiwis with a sword, while standing on a balance board. His record-setting accomplice Jonathan Hannon, threw kiwis at David, who successfully sliced 65 of them. I hope they also sliced some strawberries and bananas, for a fruit salad!

Ready to Move to Italy?

Cinquefrondi is a town in Italy, that has had no reported cases of COVID-19. It’s using that as a selling point, in addition to offering houses for 1 dollar! The COVID-free village in Calabria, launched Operation Beauty, to attract new residents who are willing to renovate abandoned houses. Sounds favoloso to me!

GoPro Still Works After Months in Ocean

12-year-old Pete Cole lost his GoPro in February. The Australian boy was surfing in Tasmania, when a wave ripped the camera off. He thought it was lost forever. Months later, a couple found it washed up on the beach. Amazingly, it still worked! They posted photos on Facebook, and reunited Pete and his camera.

Don’t Get Mixed Up!

After knitting and sewing for a while, you may feel the need to get up and move around. Since it’s World Softball Day, organize a game and practice your fastpitch. If you want to keep your distance from others, you’re in luck. It’s also International Axe Throwing Day. Use a toy axe please!

Calling Out Bad Behavior

In response to the ongoing protests against racism and police brutality, some police forces are making changes. The Police Chief in Chatanooga Tennessee, changed the department’s Code of Conduct, to require officers to intervene, if they see another police officer doing something wrong. To be a good cop, you have to stop bad cops.

Flip Flops and Falafel

What do Friday, falafel, and flip-flops have in common? They’re all fabulous. Friday’s Flip Flop Day, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe will give you a free sunshine smoothie, from 2-7 pm, if you wear flip flop sandals. Falafel is a fantastic fried fritter made with chick peas. For International Falafel Day, eat it in a pita!

My Favorite Recipe

Yay! It’s Peanut Butter Cookie Day! Mix a cup of sugar, a cup of peanut butter, and an egg together. Put spoonfuls on a cookie sheet, press them down with a fork, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until they are just barely brown at the bottom. It’s the easiest cookie recipe ever!
