Physicists at Emory University, have been trying to discover what makes the perfect bubble. They finally figured out the secret! A mixture of water and soap with polymer strands of varying lengths, made the sturdiest bubbles. They were able to make bubbles big enough, to hold an entire car!

Winter’s not over yet, but it’s never too early to think about ways to help honeybees. One easy way, is to let dandelions grow this spring. Instead of putting weed-killer on your lawn, you should welcome the happy yellow flowers. They are some of the first flowers to bloom, and bees depend on them!

The Welsh teacher managed to help his entire class, get an A+ on a nationwide mathematics exam!  In comparison, only 13% of Welsh students scored as well as his class.

This weekend’s full moon is known as the Snow Moon. The moon is also a supermoon, which occurs when a full moon coincides with the moon’s perigee. The perigee is the point when the moon’s orbit brings it closest to Earth. Since it is closer than normal, it makes the moon look huge!

8-year-old Keoni Ching, from Vancouver Washington, wanted to do something nice for Kindness Week at his school. He decided to make keychains, and sell them to raise money. He used the money to pay off the school lunch debt for all the kids in his school, as well as 6 other schools!

Today is National Boy Scouts Day. The Boy Scouts of America was created in 19 10, inspired by the British Boy Scouts. Today, there are over 114,000,000 Scouts, earning over 135 merit badges. The Pinewood Derby, where Scouts design their own miniature wooden racing cars, has been taking place since 19 53. Scouts pledge to do their best.

Grab your favorite kite and head outside. It’s Kite Flying Day! While you’re out there, sing a song in your best opera voice. You can listen to some famous opera singers like Luciano Pavarotti or Maria Callas for inspiration, since it’s Opera Day. Finally, celebrate Molasses Bar Day, with a pan of homemade treats!

Firefighters in California came to a cat’s rescue, but it wasn’t stuck up in a tree. The poor kitty had its head caught in a tire rim! Firefighters had to carefully cut through the rim with a power saw. The cat was taken to an animal shelter, so it can find a safe home!

A school in West Virginia, has a vending machine with refreshing treats. It’s full of books! The Book Drop holds about 100 books, to satisfy kids’ hunger for a good story. Students can earn tokens to buy books. There are around 350 book vending machines across the United States. Maybe your school will get one next!
