When Caleb Smith was 9 years old, he saw that many people who bought rabbits, grew tired of them. He didn’t have room to rescue them all, so he started a foster program. 300 families have fostered rabbits so far. He’s now 15, and has his own island for all the rabbits, called Peacebunny Island!

Over a decade ago, fossilized bird bones were found in New Zealand, and stored on a shelf. A graduate student recently took a closer look at the 16,000,000-year-old leg bones, and the research team discovered they were actually from a prehistoric parrot! Nicknamed Squawkzilla, it was as large as a human child!

When Autumn arrives, so does Pumpkin Spice-flavored everything. Some of those foods are already hitting the grocery stores. One product was originally an April Fools joke: Pumpkin Spice Spam. The company decided to actually put the flavored canned meat on the market. I think I’ll stick to pumpkin spice lattes!

It’s rare to see a payphone in the United States anymore, but a new one was installed in Takoma Park Maryland. If you try to make a phone call, you’ll be surprised to hear bird calls instead! Musician David Schulman created the art installation. Each button plays the sound of a different local bird.

A pink seaweed called asparagopsis, helps cows burp less. Australian researchers found that adding a small amount of the seaweed to a cow’s diet, could reduce harmful methane gas emissions from cows by 99%! If they grow enough to feed to all the cows in the world, it will really help Earth’s climate.

West Lafayette Indiana is full of small ponds, and turtles are often seen trying to get to them, by crossing dangerous streets. 8-year-old Jack Wietbrock wrote a letter to the mayor, asking him to put up Turtle Crossing signs to help keep them safe. The mayor agreed to install signs, thanks to Jack!

A hungry bulldog in Thailand needed surgery after his last meal. Devil ate 32 rubber duckies! Nong Aom had ordered a box of rubber ducks for her pool, and noticed they were missing when Devil threw up 5 of them. The hour-long surgery was a success, and also removed two rubber balls!
