Students taking a surfing class in California, got a visit from some special guests. A pod of dolphins joined the group to show off their skills! The dolphins swam with the class for about half an hour, did some synchronized leaps, then went back out to sea. What a nice surprise!

Today is Insect Repellent Awareness Day, and just in time for summer! There are lots of sprays that help keep mosquitoes away, as well as natural oils like citronella and lemongrass. Lavender can help keep fleas and ticks at bay. Marigolds are a beautiful insect deterrent. Waving mosquitoes towards someone else actually works best!

The Kawah Ijen Volcano, in Indonesia, has lava that you don’t see during the day. But at night, the lava glows blue! The mountain contains a lot of sulfur, which gives off an icy blue-violet color as it burns. The fumes are noxious, so it’s best to watch the burning flames from a distance!

Yellow punching bags have started popping up around Manhattan, in New York City. The designers, called don’t take this the wrong way, put them up as an opportunity for both locals and visitors, to release their frustrations in a safe way. Instead of getting into an argument, just punch the bag a few times!

Minnesota has a new program to help save the bees. The state will pay homeowners, to convert their yards into bee gardens. Planting bee-friendly plants like wildflowers, clover, and other native plants, could help save the endangered species. Plus, you’d have less grass to mow, making everybody happy!

Mark Rober was an engineer for NASA, so he was up for the challenge of creating a swimming pool filled with Jello. Since firm Jello is made with boiling water, which then needs to cool in the fridge, it was harder than you’d think. He succeeded, and doing belly flops and cannonballs looked amazing!

During a 100 meter race in China, a surprise competitor nearly won. A stray dog decided to join in the fun, and entered the race, coming in second place! Locals say the dog’s been hanging around for 4 years. Apparently, he finally had enough of being a spectator, and wanted to show off his running skills!
