Helioseismology is a Fun Word to Say

Helioseismology is the study of the Sun’s interior based on observing the waves on its surface. Scientists used helioseismology to confirm solar Rossby waves, which are planetary waves that occur in rotating fluids. The Earth’s Rossby waves show up in oceans, while the Sun’s waves take place in the gases and plasma.
