No Extraterrestrial Life Here, Move Along

Proxima b is the closest extra-solar planet to our solar system. It also orbits Proxima Centauri in the habitable, or “Goldilocks” zone, where the planet is just the right distance from its star to allow water to exist. Unfortunately, scientists studying the planet just measured a solar superflare that would have fried anything living on it!
