Space Junk Could be Obliterated by Lasers

Millions of bits of junk float in space orbiting our planet. Old rockets and satellite fragments can interfere with space operations. Chinese researchers think they could laser blast the debris into oblivion. It would require launching an orbital laser station and would only work on small pieces, so they’re still working on the idea.
