Today is Postal Worker Day, US Postage Stamp Day, and Zip Code Day! Zip codes tell your letter where to go, stamps pay for it, and postal workers deliver it! Thanks post office! It’s also Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day. How about Cherry-Pickle? Use an ice cream maker, to make crazy but delicious combinations.

Answer! Zero. Elephants don’t go to school! Instead, they walk around in the jungle and make poops so big that it could fill a 5 gallon bucket. Ha-ha.

Cats have cute little toes, that look like squishy beans. A kitten in Michigan, has plenty of beans to squish, because he was born with a record-setting 28 toes! Cats normally have 18 toes, but extra toes, or polydactyly, is a common occurrence. The cat was aptly named Toby.

A man in Colorado got a big surprise, when he opened the door of his pickup truck. There was a black bear sitting in the front seat! Instead of using the open door to get out, the bear kept rummaging around for food. It had to be prodded out with a wooden plank.

Have you ever made a wish on a shooting star? When a meteoroid, sometimes as small as a pebble, falls through Earth’s atmosphere, it heats up. That’s the streak of light we see! Most meteoroids burn up, but if any part reaches Earth, it’s called a meteorite. Today is Meteor Watch Day. Good luck!

Today is Social Media Day, but most social networking isn’t meant for younger kids. There are safe ways for kids to connect online, like Azoomee, GeckoLife, and Cocoon. No matter what age, everyone should remember not to share personal information online, and never post anything, you wouldn’t be comfortable with the whole world seeing.

The manager of a Domino’s in Virginia, can make your pizza in seconds. Richard Delcid came in first place, at the World’s Fastest Pizza Making Competition in Las Vegas. He made 3 large pizzas in 31 seconds! Along with bragging rights, he won $5000, a trophy, and a championship belt.

Today is International Mud Day! A lot of animals roll in mud to cool off, and some people put mud on their faces to help their skin. Sometimes it’s just fun to play in the mud! If you can’t find any mud, grab a hose, spray it on some dirt, and make your own!

Waffles are a great invention. They’re like pancakes, but designed to hold pools of syrup! Today is Waffle Iron Day, so I’m going to use my Darth Vader and Hello Kitty irons to make fun waffles! It’s also Camera Day. Learn all the special features on your camera, and take lots of pictures!
