It’s Balloons Around The World Day! Tie a helium balloon to your wrist, to follow you around, or blow one up, and rub it on your hair. Static electricity will make it stick! Ambush your friends, with water balloons, or take a hot air balloon ride. Remember, never let balloons fly away. That’s littering!

Teachers have one of the most important jobs in the world. During the pandemic, it’s been even harder, to juggle classroom safety, online learning, and keeping themselves protected at the same time. Give them a big “Thank you” today, because it’s World Teachers’ Day! Teachers are the best!

An unexpected package thief was caught on camera in Tennessee. A 33-pound FedEx delivery, was swiped by a bear! Video footage shows the bear taking a box from the porch, and dragging it across the driveway. After smelling that there was nothing good to eat inside, the bear abandoned the package, and left.

It’s a beautiful sight, to see leaves turn red, orange, and yellow in the autumn. There’s a handy map for leaf peepers, to track when the colors are at their peak. A fossilized trilobite found 50 years ago, has been hiding a few secrets. After taking a fresh look at the original x-rays of the prehistoric arthropod, paleontologists saw something incredible. Each eye was actually a compound eye, with 200 multiple lenses. Amazingly, each lens was also another compound eye, with 6 more lenses!

Today is Bullying Prevention Day. Think really hard about yourself. Are you ever a bully? Bullying is more than beating someone up, or taking their lunch money. It can look like making fun of people, purposely leaving someone out, or saying things about someone online. Stick up for others, and don’t be a bully.

Let’s talk oh-bout what’s for dinner. Have a taco dinner party, because it’s Taco Day! It’s also World Animal Day, so invite all your animal friends. Can you name an animal that starts with each letter of the alphabet? B is for Bobcat, S is for Squid, and W is for Wombat. Your turn!

Beyhan Mutlu and his friends were hanging out in the woods at night, in Turkey. Beyhan got tired and went to his friend’s house to sleep, but his friends thought he’d gotten lost in the forest. In the morning, Beyhan joined the search party for a missing person, before realizing that person was him!

Pay attention to which line you join at the grocery store. Some supermarkets in the Netherlands, have chat checkouts. The lanes are designed especially for older people who are lonely. They can take their time, and have conversations with the cashier as well as other people in line. Impatient people can choose another line.

There’s an amazing floating garden in Japan, that completely surrounds visitors with orchids. It’s part of an art exhibit at the teamlab Planets museum. Curtains of flowers hang from thin wires, over a mirrored floor. As you slowly walk around the room, the flowers rise to let you through, then lower behind you.
