Glow-In-The-Dark Shark

Scientists have discovered a shark that glows in the dark. At 5 feet long, the kitefin shark is probably the world’s largest bioluminescent animal. It lives in the ocean’s twilight zone, half-a-mile deep. At that depth, their glow would act like camouflage, when seen from below. The glow helps them blend in, like tiger’s stripes.

Starship 11 Launching Soon

The SpaceX company, hopes to send people to Mars someday. The 10th prototype of a Starship rocket, was tested on Wednesday. The launch, which was unmanned, was the best one yet. The 16-story Starship launched 6 miles into the sky, then returned to Earth, and landed successfully. Unfortunately, it fell over and exploded 8 minutes later.

Shouldn’t That Be 4-Pound Cake?

Since today is Pound Cake Day, here’s an easy recipe! Cream one pound of butter, and gradually add one pound of sugar. Mix in one pound of eggs, then add a pound of flour, a little at a time. Bake at 300° Fahrenheit, for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do you see why it’s called pound cake?

The Heathcoat family learned, never to leave their garage door open. They walked into their garage to find a 7-foot alligator hanging out in the shade. They live in Florida, where alligators turn up in unusual places. The Fish and Wildlife Commission relocated the gator to a more suitable habitat.

Space Hurricanes Are Real

In 2014, satellites detected a flow of plasma that swirled for hours, high in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. After years of analysis, scientists have concluded it was a space hurricane. The hurricane was over the North Pole, and was over 600 miles wide. It rained electrons into the ionosphere, creating a cyclone-shaped aurora below the storm.
