InSight Prepares to Land on Mars

On Monday, a spacecraft named InSight will be landing on Mars. The previous Mars rovers, Opportunity and Curiosity, explored across the surface. InSight however, will dig 16 feet down to learn more about the inside of Mars. It will measure heat, seismic activity from quakes and meteorite strikes, and planetary rotation. Happy landing, little spacecraft!

Thank You to the Wampanoag

Today in the United States, it’s Thanksgiving Day. In 1621, in Plymouth Massachusetts, English colonists and the Wampanoag people, who had helped the colonists survive the winter, celebrated with a harvest feast that lasted several days. The Native Americans had taught them to grow corn, squash and beans. Maybe you’ll eat some today. Happy Thanksgiving!
