Chinese researchers think they could laser blast the debris into oblivion. It would require launching an orbital laser station and would only work on small pieces, so they’re still working on the idea.

A labyrinth of submerged caves in Mexico called Sac Actun is now the largest known underwater cave system in the world. 216 miles of caverns hold countless artifacts from the ancient Mayan civilization 10 to 12,000 years ago. Archaeologists have discovered Mayan ceramics, extinct animals, early humans, and Mayan graves, and the exploration’s just begun!

Chameleons change their skin color to match their surroundings. Scientists recently discovered even their bones get into the act! Bones glow under fluorescent light, but chameleons’ bones fluoresce through their skin. The bones display patterns, especially on the head and face. It may let chameleons communicate without breaking cover and attracting predators.

Today we celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day. A. A. Milne started writing books about the lovable bear, Piglet, Tigger, and Pooh’s other friends in 1926, illustrated by E. H. Shepard. They were inspired by a black bear at the London Zoo named Winnie who Christopher Robin, the author’s son, loved to visit.

Last night near Detroit Michigan, a meteor lit up the sky. The meteor was seen and heard in 6 states and parts of Canada. 400 pre-school students in Turkey set a beautiful world record. They created a marbled fabric painting 164 feet long. Marbling is done by floating an image on the surface a liquid and transferring it to fabric or paper. Try mixing food coloring in oil and swirl it into water, then marble your own paper!
