The competition with a 250,000 dollar prize challenges teenagers to create a 3 minute video that simplifies a big math or science idea. Hillary explained Einstein’s Theory of Relativity using frame of reference and a pickup truck!

There’s a new book coming out in April that should be a real gas! Zoologist Dani Rabaiotti and ecologist Nick Caruso created a guide to animal flatulence called “Does It Fart?” Birds and sloths don’t fart. Whales do it on an epic scale. Dinosaurs could have farted 4 pounds of methane per day!

9000 years ago, cats started hanging out with humans. Humans began farming, rodents were attracted to crops, and wild cats came to catch the rodents. A new material is shaping skyscrapers these days. It’s called cross-laminated timber, or C L T, and is produced in the small town of Riddle Oregon. C L T is made by glueing panels of wood together in layers. Plyscrapers are earthquake and fire resistant, cheaper to build, and environmentally friendly!

There have been insects named after Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln. Recently a wasp in New Zealand was named after the Harry Potter character Lucius Malfoy!
