Reusable Straws Save Wildlife

Today is National Drinking Straw Day, but modern plastic straws can harm the environment and wildlife. Paper straws were invented in 1888 by Marvin Stone. Ancient Sumerians were using gold straws to drink beer 5000 years ago! Argentinians use metal straws that end in sieves called bombillas. Invest in a steel or bamboo straw to celebrate!

Theory of Relativity Simplified

18 year-old Hillary Diane Andales of the Phillipines is the winner of the 2017 Breakthrough Junior Challenge. The competition with a 250,000 dollar prize challenges teenagers to create a 3 minute video that simplifies a big math or science idea. Hillary explained Einstein’s Theory of Relativity using frame of reference and a pickup truck!
