Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest tried to break a world record on their morning TV show, and failed. But 2 of the show’s producers, Jan Schillay and Jim Niebler, gave it a shot instead. They now hold the title, for most sweaters put on in 30 seconds, (team of 2), managing to don 9 sweaters.

That’s a Big Old Rock

Meteorites can tell us a lot about the universe, but they’re hard to find. A large meteorite was recently found in Antarctica, that weighs 17 pounds! It appears to be a chondrite, which is a stony space rock, containing dust and minerals from the early solar system. It probably originated from the asteroid belt.

Lots of Teeth, But No Bite

A pterosaur fossil discovered in Germany, has hundreds of teeth. The spatula-shaped bill, has more than 480 long thin teeth, some of which have a hook at the end. They probably used their teeth like a baleen whale, to filter tiny shrimp out of the water. This pterosaur’s been preserved in limestone, for 150,000,000 years.

Today is Seeing Eye Dog Day. They are dogs that are trained to lead blind and visually impaired humans. They help people around obstacles. Dogs are color blind, and can’t read street signs, so they still need to be assisted by their human. Never pet or distract a guide dog. They’re working!

Ha Ha, Very Funny Mister Fish

Japanese YouTuber Mutekimaru, also known as Maurice, built a system where his pet fish, can play Pokemon on a Nintendo Switch. The betta fish swims to different parts of the tank, to control the game. The fish must have gotten mischievous, because it also made some purchases, and changed Mutekimaru’s account name to “ROWAWAWAWA.”

A Week Just For Iceworms

The Cordova Iceworm Festival, begins today in Alaska! Iceworms live in glaciers, and function best at temperatures below freezing. Only a few centimeters long, they move between the ice crystals. The festival’s mascot however, is 150 feet long! The festival includes learning about iceworms, games, the Miss Iceworm Coronation, dances, a parade, and fireworks.

Daisy, Daisy, Give Me Your Nice Kazoo

Throw some blueberries in your pancake mix, because it’s Blueberry Pancake Day. After you finish breakfast, hum your favorite tunes, on an annoying instrument, to celebrate Kazoo Day! Play a song about daisies, like “Bicycle Built for Two,” because it’s also Daisy Day. There are 20,000 varieties, of the bright happy flower.
