A Tricky Predicament

A raccoon in Georgia was mighty happy, to get a helping hand. The raccoon was straddling a railroad track, with its private parts frozen to the rail. Luckily, a railroad worker spotted the critter, and helped him with a bucket of warm water. After getting unstuck, the little fella ran safely into the woods.

You Forgot Mud Pie and Cow Pie

Toadzilla Found in Australia

A cane toad found in Australia, has been nicknamed Toadzilla. The massive toad, weighs 5.9 pounds, which is a world record. The toad had been living in Conway National Park for a long time, based on its size. Cane toads can live 15 years in the wild, and lay 30,000 eggs at a time!

Robots Lend Farmers a Hand

Old MacDonald had a farm, but did he have robots? A new robot called SentiV, rolls through fields like a tumbleweed, inspecting plants for disease or pests. The spoke-wheeled robot doesn’t crush the plants, can look under the leaves, and can determine if damaged crops need pesticides, fertilizer, or just more water.

Delicious Dots

Today is Polka Dot Day. It was created to celebrate Minnie Mouse, who’s famous for her dotted dresses. It’s also Blonde Brownie Day. Sometimes called blondies, they use a recipe similar to brownies, but replace the cocoa with brown sugar. Give your blondies polka dots, made of white chocolate, butterscotch chips, or nuts.

Happy Year of the Water Rabbit

Xīn nián kuài lè! That means “Happy new year” in Chinese. The Chinese Lunar New Year starts today, and it’s the Year of the Rabbit. The Spring Festival begins 15 days of parties, fireworks, feasts and parades. It’s traditional to wear red and avoid sweeping. You’d sweep out good luck that the new year brought!
