Massive Megaraptor Once Roamed Argentina

Paleontologists in Argentina, have discovered a new dinosaur, that lived 70,000,000 years ago, during the Cretaceous period. Named Maip macrothorax, the 33-foot-long apex predator weighed 6 tons, and is the biggest megaraptor ever discovered. It had 2 sharp, 15- inch-long claws on each front foot, to rip into its prey. Don’t mess with Maip!

Pre-Dawn’s Early Lights

Look up in the sky this week, and you’ll have a good chance of spotting a shooting star. Earth is passing through the debris field of Halley’s comet. Bits of rock burn up in the atmosphere, causing meteor showers. The Eta Aquarid meteor showers last until May 27th, but will peak early Thursday morning.

Orange You Thankful for Oranges?

Today is Orange Juice Day. Make it special, by squeezing your own juice from fresh oranges. If you don’t like pulpy OJ, be sure to strain it. Cut the peels into strips, because it’s also Candied Orange Peel Day. They turn into delicious candy, when simmered in a sugar syrup.

May the Fourth be with you. I mean the Force! May the 4th is Star Wars Day, so get your light sabers out, and watch your favorite Star Wars movie. If you want to have a marathon and watch every single one, it’ll take over 22 hours. You’d better already be watching!

Beach Ball Bonanza

Idaho man David Rush, holds hundreds of world records. His latest record-breaking feat, was catching the most beach ball passes in 30 seconds, while blindfolded. It’s harder than it sounds, because the ball can touch nothing but hands, and then must be lifted over your head. David caught 18 blind passes, for the record.

How’d We End Up Here?

Firefighters in England, had to rescue 5 sheep off of a rooftop. The sheep had jumped across a gap at the edge of a neighboring field, and ended up on a roof, enjoying the view. The firefighters made a bridge, to allow the sheep to cross safely back to the field.

A Bowl of Kindness

12-year-old Gabriel Clarkie makes wooden bowls and cutting boards. After his dad posted photos of Clarkie Woodwork’s creations for sale, Gabriel got 20,000 requests. He decided to make one bowl, and hold a lottery for anyone donating to Save The Children Ukraine. Gabriel’s Bowl For Ukraine, raised $313,000. Renuka Chapman won the hand-carved bowl.

In-Flight Wedding Ceremony

A couple was traveling to Las Vegas in their wedding clothes, to get married at an early morning appointment. Unfortunately, their flight was canceled, and they had to take an evening flight. They decided to get married on the way to Vegas, by a minister on the flight, with toilet paper streamers for decorations.
