The Cubic Poop of Wombats

Wombats are marsupials that live in Australia. They are about 3 feet long, dig underground burrows, and have cube-shaped poop! Scientists discovered the shape is formed by elastic variations in their digestive tract. Since they mark their territory by leaving piles of poop on logs and rocks, the cube shape keeps them from rolling away.

Astronomers may have discovered our Sun’s long-lost twin! HD 186302 is 184 light-years away, but was almost certainly born in the same stellar nursery, (a massive cloud of gas and dust that forms stars as it collapses), 4.57 billion years ago. If HD 186302 is the Sun’s stellar twin, it may even have a twin Earth-like planet!
