Art student Betsy Bond, has just created the world’s largest knitting needles. The red plastic needles are 14 feet long, and perfectly useable. In order to be an official world record, she had to knit at least 10 stitches and rows of yarn. That’s going to be one gigantic blanket!

Wombats are marsupials that live in Australia. They are about 3 feet long, dig underground burrows, and have cube-shaped poop! Scientists discovered the shape is formed by elastic variations in their digestive tract. Since they mark their territory by leaving piles of poop on logs and rocks, the cube shape keeps them from rolling away.

The Fallen Feathers Sanctuary in Arizona, has a temporary glamorous guest. They’re taking care of a pigeon, that was found wearing a jeweled vest! The pigeon is obviously well-loved, tame, and likes to watch Westerns on TV. If the owners don’t turn up, the blinged-out pigeon will be adopted by a new family.

HD 186302 is 184 light-years away, but was almost certainly born in the same stellar nursery, (a massive cloud of gas and dust that forms stars as it collapses), 4.57 billion years ago. If HD 186302 is the Sun’s stellar twin, it may even have a twin Earth-like planet!
