Ever since Shaynon McFadden and Royce Robbins bought their home in Colorado, they’ve seen snakes popping up through their deck, in the yard, and even inside the house. They finally investigated, and found 150 snakes living in a den under their deck! They weren’t dangerous, but the couple had them removed and safely relocated anyway.

Putting 31,000 Books Away

Have you ever wanted to read your way, through a row of books? The Book Fairies organization, set up a line of books in 2 Wyandanch New York elementary schools, that measured 3.81 miles long! After breaking the world record, for longest line of books, the 31,000 books were donated to local residents.

Living in an Ice Cave

I’ve heard of picking a lock, but some people in New York are chiseling their way into their homes, with a pickaxe! 48 hours of gale force winds along the shores of Lake Erie, have caused houses to get coated in layers of ice, up to 3 feet thick. Temperatures have warmed, so it’s melting now.

Adorable Squirrel Has 737,000 Followers

Furry little animals are cute. So are stuffed animal toys. But a squirrel hugging a tiny stuffed teddy bear, is cutest of all! Jill the squirrel fell out of her nest, during a hurricane 7 years ago. A family rescued her, and Jill and her teeny teddy are on Instagram. Her page is called this-girl-is-a-squirrel.

Breathe In, Breathe Out

Some Ohio schools are trying an alternative, to traditional after-school detention. Instead of being forced to sit in a room, students are led in meditation, mindfulness training, and yoga classes after school. The schools have seen a positive effect in behavior, because students are learning to manage their stress, instead of acting out inappropriately.

Giant Glyptodont Shells Uncovered

A farmer in Argentina, has discovered 4 ancient glyptodonts, in a dry riverbed. Glyptodonts were giant armadillos, that roamed the Earth 20,000 years ago. Their bony plates were fused together, so they couldn’t roll up into balls like modern armadillos. They also weighed 4400 pounds, and had shells as big as a car!
