Today is Serpent Day, which celebrates-es snakes-es. There are more than 3000 species of snakes, of which only 1/8th are venomous. The longest species, the reticulated python, can grow to over 30 feet. The tiny Barbados threadsnake is like a 4-inch long spaghetti noodle. Snakes smell the air with their tongue. Can you do that?

Okay parents, it’s Take Your Child To The Library Day. After everyone comes home with good books, take some time to read to each other, for World Read Aloud Day. It’s also nice to listen to an audio book. You’re never too old, to enjoy listening to someone read you a book!

It’s Girl Scout Cookie season, and one scout set out to sell cookies to someone, in all 50 United States. 7-year-old Rory Clark, used a website, social media, and some help from her mom, to accomplish her goal. The Daisy Scout also learned US geography, by coloring states on a map, to celebrate her sales.

A recent photo circulating online, shows an x-ray of a woman’s dislocated and broken hips. The injuries occurred during a minor car crash, but she had been riding with her feet resting on the dashboard. When the airbags deployed, they forced her feet back at 100 miles-per-hour. Always ride sitting up, with your feet down!

2 fun things to do, are reading books and playing with kittens. At a bookstore in Nova Scotia Canada, you can do both! Otis and Clementine’s Books and Coffee, in Upper Tantallon, is a bookstore with playful, adoptable kittens running around. Start reading your favorite book to your favorite kitten, and bring them both home!

So today, put on a big crazy wig, have a party, and get people to donate to a worthwhile charity. Today’s also Gorilla Suit Day. You’re going to be really hairy!

Did you know that Leonardo Da Vinci, who painted the Mona Lisa, wrote backwards? See if you can do it, for Backward Day! Wear your clothes backwards, and see if anyone notices!

13-year-old Naomi Wadler was one of the teenage change-makers, who spoke at the World Economic Forum, last week in Davos Switzerland. She began her life as a student activist against gun violence, when she was in elementary school in Washington DC! Naomi’s mission is to empower African American girls, and create a better world.

Jonathan Tippett of Vancouver British Columbia, spent over 10 years designing a huge, 4-legged robot, named Prosthesis. The steel exoskeleton is nearly 13 feet tall and 18 feet wide! A pilot must sit inside to control it. Aside from being really fun to ride around in, Prosthesis is also the world’s largest tetrapod exoskeleton.
