Astronauts on the International Space Station have a special assignment: reading to kids, from space! Story Time from Space is a program where carefully chosen books rocket up to the Space Station. Have you ever wondered what garlic bread would taste like on the edge of space? YouTubers Tom Scott, Steve Randall and Barry Lewis sent a loaf of garlic bread up 22 miles, attached to a weather balloon. When it came back down, they ate it. The stratospheric bread was a little frozen in the middle, but still delicious!

Last weekend, the London Marathon resulted in 34 new world records! There was the fastest marathon on stilts, and the fastest people dressed as a carrot, Star Wars character, cheerleader, man in a wedding dress, and Forrest Gump. Even the weather participated: it was the hottest London Marathon on record, at a balmy 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Teenagers Nick Heath and Jack Donnelly were riding their motorbikes near Sydney, Australia when they spotted a kangaroo buried in mud. Nick crawled through the mud quarry to rescue the baby kangaroo, then Jack pulled them back with a rope. They named the roo Lucas, gave him a bath, and took him to a wildlife rescue service to recover.

The European Space Agency’s Gaia mission has a huge goal: mapping all the stars in our galaxy. The map pinpoints the location and brightness of 1.7 billion stars in the Milky Way. It also shows asteroids, interstellar dust, and the color and density of stars. The Gaia spacecraft is still adding to the incredible 3D map!

The ESA, or European Space Agency, had been studying a comet named 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Photos were taken by the Rosetta spacecraft in 2016, and Twitter user “landru79” compiled them into a time-lapse video. The amazing result shows cosmic rays, ice and dust, against a cliff thousands of feet tall. Search: “Comet 67 video”, to see it yourself!
