The Parkers lost their dog in the woods in Alabama. Soup had run through the woods, to a prison. Charles Brooks, an employee at Kilby Correctional Facility, found Soup and took him in, where the inmates loved him. The Parkers and their dog were finally reunited, and Soup has loads of new friends!
The devastating bushfires in Australia, have left the world wanting to help. Groups like the Animal Rescue Craft Guild, have been knitting koala mittens, sewing kangaroo pouches, and building possum boxes to help animals. Donating money to groups like Red Cross Australia and Wires, is still the best way to help. Start a fundraiser!

When guests checked into a hotel in England on New Year’s Eve, they found someone was already in the room. It was a snake! The kingsnake was curled up asleep, under the TV. He looked well cared-for, so he probably escaped from another guest. Animal rescuers are taking care of him for now.
The Earth’s neighbor, Venus, has a dense and hazy atmosphere, so it’s hard to see what’s on the surface. Scientists knew the planet has volcanoes that were active 2.5 million years ago. The European Space Agency’s Venus Orbiter, measured infrared light on the planet at night, and found the planet may still be volcanically active!
It just got easier to take a bus, in Olympia Washington. Following the lead of other cities, like Corvallis Oregon and Missoula Montana, Olympia decided to stop charging bus fare! Now riders can travel easily around the city, without needing to look for correct change. That also means less cars polluting the roads!

Paul Jones started collecting baseball cards when he was 10 years old. He has Asperger’s syndrome, and baseball helped him learn to read, spell, and count. 24 years later, his hobby has earned him a world record for the largest private baseball card collection. He has collected more than 2,700,000 cards! That’s incredible!
