Solar panels aren’t just for roofs anymore. In Germany, 400,000 households have installed solar panels, on their balconies and verandas. They are easier to install than rooftop panels, although they don’t generate as much energy. But sometimes, when the winter sun stays low in the sky, more light hits the sides than the roof!
