DON’T EAT ME!

The North American walnut sphinx caterpillar doesn’t want to get eaten, so it’s developed an effective method to defend itself. It let’s out a full-body scream, that stops birds in their tracks! The sound mimics the warning cry of some songbirds, and can be 80 decibels loud. That’s like a freight train, from 50 feet away!
