Horseshoe Bats Are Back

The Hill’s horseshoe bat is easy to identify, because of its funny-looking face. But for the last 40 years, the species was believed to be extinct. A research team was astounded to find the long-lost bat, in a cloud forest in Rwanda. Scientists recorded the horseshoe bat’s echolocation calls, to pinpoint where they liv.
