Asian Elephant Calf Born in Nation’s Capital

The Smithsonian Zoo in Washington D C, announced a new baby was born. Her mom’s name is Nhi Linh, and she’s an Asian elephant. Asian elephants are endangered in the wild. The elephant calf was walking on her own within 5 hours of being born! The pair will bond in an off-exhibit area for a few months.
